GALESBURG -- Idella M. Thurman, 74, of 740 E. Knox St. died at 11:53 p.m. Wednesday, June 21, 1995, at Knox County Nursing Home in Knoxville.
Born Jan. 16, 1921, in Warren County to Hilery E. and Nellie P. Riggen Hoadley, she married Edward M. Thurman on Oct. 9, 1937, in Davenport, Iowa. He died Dec. 12, 1967.
One son, Terry L., two brothers and three sisters also preceded her in death. Surviving are one son, Larry E. of Galesburg; two daughters, Joyce E. Brown of Silvis and Barbara Ann Johnson of Moline; one brother, Cassell Hoadley of Salem, Ore.; one sister, Virginia Harris of Reno, Nev.; five grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
She was a member of First Christian Church. Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Hinchliff-Pearson- West Abingdon Chapel. The Rev. Raymond McLaren will officiate. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 tonight at the chapel. Burial will be in Abingdon Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association.
