N. P. Dewey Succumbs to Heart Attack
Mr. N. P. Dewey, 76, of 801 3rd St. N.E., succumbed to a heart attack at his home Tuesday, August 14 at 5:30 p.m.
Napoleon P. Dewey was born December 19, 1885, the son of John and Harriet Dewey of Osage, Ia. He was a carpenter by trade and for several years served as a Waseca councilman. He was a member of the Methodist church, the I.O.O.F. For 45 years, the Horse Thief Detectives Society and the Historical Society.
On December 19, 1906 he married Clara Lindemer of Elgin, Minn. The couple resided in Osage for a time later moving to South Dakota and to Elgin. 50 years ago they moved to Waseca. His wife preceded him in death five years ago this August.
He is survived by daughters, Mrs. D. G. (Gladys) Twisselman, Waseca and Mrs. Frank (Vera) Washer, Apple Valley, Calif. and one son, Lawrence M. Dewey of Austin.
One sister, Mrs. Annie Gunn resides in Sioux Falls, S. Dak. Several half brothers, many nieces and nephews and four grandsons are also survivors of the deceased.
Funeral services will be held Friday, August 17 at 2 p.m. at the Methodist church with the Rev. Burton Passer officiating. Interment will be at Woodville cemetery.
Visitation may be made at the Peterson Funeral Home.
