He was born June 19, 1932, in Person County, N.C.He was employed as a weaver at Collins & Aikman in Roxboro, N.C. He was a member of Aarons Creek Baptist Church.He is survived by his wife, Georgia Smith Yancey of Virgilina; three daughters, Gail Yancey West of Clarksville, Ginger Yancey Groover of Sunset Beach, N.C. and Yvette Yancey Rice of Roxboro, N.C.; a son, Andy Yancey of Virgilina; two sisters, Wynette Wilkins and Rose Clayton, both of Roxboro, N.C.; a brother, Talmadge Yancey of Roxboro, N.C.; six grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.The funeral will be held 2 p.m. Friday at Aarons Creek Baptist Church with the Rev. Bill McEntire officiating. Interment will be in the church cemetery.The family will receive friends 7-8:30 p.m. Thursday at Brooks Funeral Home, South Boston, and at other times at the residence.The family suggests that memorials may be made to Aarons Creek Baptist Church Building Fund.Brooks Funeral Home, South Boston, is in charge of arrangements.
