OBITUARY

Carrie M. McKee, wife of H. F. McKee, deceased, was born November 16, 1879 near Massena in Cass county, Iowa and passed away at her home near Carl, Iowa on January 5, 1939, aged 60 years, 1 month, and 20 days.

On October 14, 1896 she was united in marriage to Franklin H. McKee at the home of her grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. H. Heath near Massena. To this union was born eight children, two of whom preceded their mother in death. Daisy May, who passed away in 1903 at the age of nine months; and an infant son who passed away in 1907. The other children are Dennis of Greenfield, Vernon of Prescott, Manford, Dorothy, Eugene, and Edith at home. Mrs. McKee united with the M. E. church at Massena 35 years ago, later transferring her membership at Car, where she attended when possible, helping with the various works of the church, giving her share toward to support of the church.

She was a devoted mother, always planning for the good of and what was best for her children. She was a good neighbor, always ready and willing to do all she could to help anyone. Her girlhood days and first year of her married life were spent near Massena. In 1919 she, with her husband and family, moved to her late home near Carl.

There is left to mourn the loss of a devoted mother the children, two little granddaughters, Marilyn and Gloria, daughters of Mr. and Mrs. Vernon McKee and many other relatives and friends.

Funeral services were held Saturday afternoon at 1:30 at the Methodist church at Carl, Iowa, Rev. Z. M. Bressler in charge. Mrs. Frank Packenham, Mrs. Donald Pearson, Sam Kirkpatrick, and Oscar Homan furnished the musical numbers with Miss Warwick at the piano. Burial was in Victoria cemetery.
