Msgr. Armando Andrew Annunziato, pastor of St. Mary's Church in Mansfield since 1981 died Tuesday, Aug 31, 1993 at his sister's home at 4 Richmond Street following a long illness. He was 63. He was born in Taunton, son of the late Michaelangelo and Angelina (Greco) Annunziato. He attended Taunton schools, graduating from Msgr. James Coyle High School in 1949. He attended Providence College from 1949 to 1951. He earned a bachelor's degree in philosophy at St. Mary's Seminary in Baltimore in 1953. He earned a bachelor's degree in theology at North American College (Georgian University) in Rome in 1957. He was ordained into the priesthood on Dec 16, 1956, at the Chapel of North American College in Rome by Most Rev. Martin J. O'Connor. He was ordained into the Diocese of Fall River. He served in several holy orders while in Rome, including tonsure, doorkeeper, reader, exorcist, acolyte, subdiaconate, and diaconate. He was appointed to serve in several positions at a number of local parishes, including curate at St. Mary's Church in North Attleboro in 1957; administrator at St. Francis of Assisi Church in New Bedford in 1970; Family Life Bureau in New Bedford in 1971; chaplain for the New Bedford Guild for the Blind in 1971; director of St. Mary's Home in New Bedford in 1971; director of St. Vincent's Home in Fall River in 1974; administrator of St. Bernard's Church in Assonet in 1974; pastor of St. James Church in New Bedford in 1977; pator of St. Mary's Church in Mansfield in 1981; Pro. Synodal Judge in 1983; and Dean of Attleboro area priests in 1987. He was elevated to Domestic Prelate on Mar 07. He is survived by three brothers, John P. Annunziato of Taunton, Rev. Michael Annunziato S.S.C.C. of Edinburg, Texas, And Amalio E. Annunziato of North Dighton; a sister Mrs. George (Elaine) Oldfield of Raynham; an uncle, Rev. Amalio Greco of St. Jude's Shrine in Baltimore; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral Mass will be held 11 a.m. Friday at St. Mary's Church, Mansfield. Interment will be in St. Francis Cemetery in Taunton
