Carrie Bedient was the fourth of twelve children born to Osborn Bedient and Hannah J. Marshall. Her parents married in 1851 in Windsor, New York, and resided until 1854 before moving to Lee County, Illinois. Her father was a farmer and raised livestock in several places in Lee County before settling the Bedient family on a farm in Lee Center near the Rogers family farm. Carrie married Albin Joshua Rogers on May 9, 1878 and together they had three children all born in Lee Center: Raymond Albin, Tracy Roy and Edith Mae. Carrie Rogers died in 1893 at age 35 while her children were still adolescents. After her death, her husband and children continued to live on the Rogers family farm near Lee Center until moving to Sergeant Bluff, Iowa in 1902. Carrie is buried in Evergreen Cemetery in Lee County, Illinois.
