GREENSBORO, Ala. – Graveside services for Mabel Bolling Averett will be held today, at 11 a.m., at Mt. Hermon United Methodist Church in Hale County just north of Greensboro, with Bro. Mike Spencer officiating. Kirk Funeral Homes of Greensboro Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Averett, 84, of Livingston, died Thursday, Dec. 8, 2011, at Anderson Medical Center in Meridian, Miss. She was born July 1, 1927, in Hale County, to the late John D. and Lelar Johnson Bolling.
Survivors include her grandchildren: John Spero Averett and Laura Elizabeth Brewer Larkin (Eddie); great-grandchildren: Shelby N. Averett, William S. Averett, John R. Averett, Lexie Larkin and Miles Brewer Larkin.
Pallbearers will be Searcy Averett, Robert Webb, Alfred Harless, Tommy Fuller, Jacky Smith, Lee Miles, and Wayne Springfield.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Mt. Hermon United Methodist Church, 111 Cedarwood Road, Moundville, AL 35474; or to the American Cancer Society, P.O. Box 22718, Oklahoma City, OK 73123.
The family will receive friends in the fellowship hall one hour prior to services at the church.
