As per obituary in Press Enterprise: Alfred F. "Al" Eckroth, 59 of Seven Valleys, died at 3pm Thursday, Feb 14, 2002 at his residence. Born in Bloomsburg, June 1, 1942 he was a son of Harriette (Jones) Eckroth, Bloomsburg, and the late Lawrence R. Eckroth Sr. He was a 1960 graduate of Millville High School. Mr. Eckroth was a graduate of the University of Maryland. He was a veteran of the Army during the Vietnam War. Mr. Eckroth was employed with the National Security Agency based at Fort Meade, where he retired in 1997. Previously, hje had been stationed for 15 years at Menwith Hill Station Army Base in Harrigate, England.In addition to his mother, he is survived by his wife the former Ann Hooson, at home; a daughter Caroline Hess, Red Lion; two granddaughters and two brothers: Lawernce R. Eckroth Jr. Bloomsburg and Jack B. Eckroth Millville, Funeral services will be 6pm Monday at the JJ Hartenstein Mortuary inc. Bural will be in Jerseytown Cemetery, Jerseytown at the convience of the family.
