Funeral services for Palmer Alderman, 71, of Needville, are scheduled for 10 a.m. Tuesday, May 18, 2004, at the Garmany & Carden Funeral Directors Chapel in Needville, with the Rev. Fred Banda officiating. Burial will follow in Needville Public Cemetery.

Visitation will be 5 p.m. to 8 p.m., Monday, May 17, at the Garmany & Carden Funeral chapel in Needville.

Mr. Alderman was born in Hillsville, Va., on Dec. 21, 1932, to Eugene and Zelphia Alderman. He died Saturday, May 15, 2004, at Hermann Memorial Southwest Hospital in Houston. He was retired from Fort Bend County. He served in the US Air Force and was a member of the American Legion.

He is survived by his wife, Rebecca Alderman of Needville; daughter, Rebecca Diane Ellison and husband, Les, of Needville; son, Palmer Ray Alderman and wife, Kim, of Needville; daughter, Donna Lorease Hirsch and husband, Darrell, of Rosenberg; four grandsons, Cameron Ryan Alderman, Joshua Palmer Alderman, Aaron Tyler Hirsch, and Logan Matthew Hirsch; three brothers, Carlos Alderman and wife, Katherine, of Palacios, Joe Alderman and wife, Opal, of Hillsville, Va., John Alderman of Siler City, NC; four sisters, Eileen Edwards of Danville, Va., Sarah Sue Murray and husband, Vernon, of Needville, Marie Strain, of Needville, Ann Lehmann, of New Caney; two sisters-in-law, Liz Bounds, of Cleveland and Zola Robertson, of Houston; two brothers-in-law, Lawrence Otis Hall, of Conroe and Bradley Hall, of New Caney; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Pamela Alderman; two sisters, Judy Murray and Maci Burnett; five brothers, Rush, Cassell, Harris, Ashby, and Bill Alderman.
