Margey Meyer Obituary

Margey R. Meyer, 87, passed away peacefully at Promedica St. Luke's Hospital on Saturday, August 25, 2012, surrounded by her loving family. She was born June 16, 1925 in Neapolis, Ohio to Charles and Ada Pike. Preceded in death by her husband of 59 years, Donald, she was a true hard working farmer's wife. During World War II she worked as a welder at American Can. She worked 50+ years for the Lucas County Board of elections as a Precinct Election Official. She was a 59 year member of the Order of the Eastern Star Fulton Chapter #67, Wauseon, OH, serving as Worthy Matron in 1962. Other memberships included Neapolis Church of Christ, Whitehouse American Legion Auxillary and Ladies Oriental Shrine of North America, Dendarah Court #10. A devoted friend, mother and grandmother, family and friends were her joy in life. Kind and generous, her home, heart, and arms were always open to all who knew her. Her early years were filled with busy farm life, sewing and crafts, and baking great wedding cakes. She enjoyed days of fishing on Lake Erie, catching walleye and perch to share with family and friends. Later years brought fun winters in Florida and Texas and watching grandchildren and great-grandchildren grow. She was a beloved granny. She is survived by children: Barbara (Gary) Loboschefski, of Grand Rapids, OH; Donnie Meyer of Swanton, OH; and Jim (Kathy) Meyer of Swanton, OH. Grandchildren: Jodi Romaker, Aaron (Celeste) Lindberg, Fred (Tammy) Meyer, Deb (Mike) Roughton, Jimi (Christy Rospert) Meyer, Brian (Bernadette) Meyer, and Amy (Joe) Lyons; Step-Grandchildren: Brandon (Nicole) Loboschefski of Maumee, Ohio, and Amber (Scott) Schmid of Dayton, Ohio. Great-grandchildren: Chad and Ashley Roughton, Velvet Rose, Adrianna and Johnathon Meyer, Caralinn and Carson Meyer, Alyvia Meyer and Peyton to be born in September; Step-Great-grandchildren: Paige and Caleb Loboschefski, and Alexander and Cameron Schmid; a sister V. Beatrice (Frank) Lederer of Waterville, Ohio, numerous nieces and nephews and special friend Donald Bloomer. She was the youngest of 12 children and was preceded in death by sisters: Velma Fought, Opal Bowles, Ethel Champion and Loretta Bruner; Brothers: Alfred, Howard, Pete and Clyde D. Jewell, Lawrence and Louis Pike. Friends and family may call Tuesday, August 28, 2012 at Peinert Funeral Home, Whitehouse, Ohio from 3 to 8 p.m. with Eastern Star Service at 7 p.m. Funeral Services will be Wednesday at 1 p.m. at Neapolis Church of Christ with Pastor Terry Spiess officiating.
