Hurley Littleton, age 88, of Frankford, passed away Thursday, December 8th at the Beebe Medical Center in Lewes.

Hurley was born in Ocean View son of the late, Hiram and Delia Littleton.

He was a custodian at the Indian River High School, retiring in 1985. Hurley was also a farmer, poultry grower and a carpenter. He was a lifetime member of the Frankford Volunteer Fire Company with over 50 years of service. He was also a member of the Delaware State Fire Police and Frankford Methodist Church. He enjoyed gardening, cutting grass and riding his moped around Frankford.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife Mildred Rickards Littleton and his second wife Mickey Tipton Littleton; step-daughter, Marguerite Johnson; brother, Hiram Littleton, Jr; 2 sisters, Agnes Aydlelotte and Addie Revel.

He is survived by his step-children, Victor Lewis and his wife Nancy of Frankford, Carolyn Robinson of Dagsboro, Leroy Hooper and his wife Nancy of Bishopville, MD; 9 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren.

A funeral service will be held Tuesday, December 13th, 2011 at 1:00 p.m. at the chapel of Melson Funeral Services on Thatcher Street in Frankford, where friends may call after 12:00 noon. Burial will be in Carey's Cemetery in Frankford.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions in Hurley's memory to, Frankford Volunteer Fire Company, P.O. Box 99, Frankford, DE. 19945 or Frankford Methodist Church, P.O. Box 37, Frankford, DE. 19945.
