NEW BEDFORD -- Manuel D. Correia, 83, of Acushnet, died Saturday, April 26, 1997, after a brief illness. He was the widower of Lydia (Medeiros) Correia and son of the late Manuel D. and Mary (Frazier) Correia.
He died at The Oaks.
Born in New Bedford, he had lived in Dartmouth before moving to Acushnet 12 years ago. He was a communicant of St. John the Baptist Church.
Mr. Correia was employed by the former Lincoln Park as superintendent until his retirement.
Survivors include a daughter, Carol A. Westgate of Acushnet; six grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
He was the brother of the late Richard and Ernest Correia, Sarah Sava, Emily Medeiros, Rose Vieira and Florence Barba.
Arrangements are by the Aubertine Funeral Home, 129 Allen St.
