Born the third of ten children to David and Mary (Bodine) Caldwell. Was married to John W. Taylor in Covington on Christmas day 1859, and subsequently moved to Columbia City, Tennessee. She probably died from complications of childbirth, as her newborn son Ellis Taylor died the same month at 27 days of age.
