Born in Laurens County, he was a son of the late James Ross Cook, Sr. and Mildred Cooper Cook. Mr. Cook retired from Laurens Glass and also with American Security at Kemet in Simpsonville. He was a member of Highland Home Baptist Church where he was a deacon. Mr. Cook served in the National Guard and was also a Mason and member of the Schroder Lodge #144.
Surviving in addition to his wife are a brother, Marion R. Cook and wife, Sybil of Laurens.
