TOMIE DECKER was born July 9, 1893, departed this life January 13, 1973 at the age of 79 years, 6 months and 4 days old. He was the son of the late Adam and Elizabeth VanMeter Decker. He was united in marriage to Ida Thompson on July 28, 1917 and to this union was born 6 children, 4 of whom survive, 3 daughters, Canis Johnson, Cleo Duvall and Nora Rea Meredith, all of Bee Springs, Ky., one son, Wilburn Decker, Bee Springs, Ky. One grandson he raised, Dennie Gipson of Bee Springs, Ky. He is also survived by 15 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren. He was saved at Nolin Church in the fall of 1932 and joined the church and was baptized and remained a member until death. I have heard him tell different times how he saw right into the portals of Glory when he was saved and saw his little 2 year old son that had died. And the night I had to tell him that he had cancer, he told it again. We all miss Pop but I wouldn't call him back if I could, for I am positive he had gone beyond all heartache and trouble.
