OBITUARY FRANCIS DAVID CHILD

Francis David Child born Dec. 1, 1922, died Dec. 18, 2001, son of Asa Lonson Child and Alice Maud Compton Child. Attended Salt Lake City Schools and the University of Utah. Served in the U.S. Army in the South Pacific during World War II. He was a member of the LDS church where he served in many callings.
He married Norma Henny Jensen August 7, 1946 in the Logan LDS Temple.
He enjoyed working with the Boy Scouts of America and he enjoyed sports activities throughout his life. With his wife, Norma, he founded Olympus Insurance Agency in Salt Lake City, where he worked for more than 35 years. "I thank my sons for wanting to join us in the insurance business, What a thrill!' 'I am very proud of my daughter, Loretta.' What a wonderful adventure this life has been for Dave and Norma!" Past president of the Independent Insurance Agents of Salt Lake City.
He is survived by his wife; sons, F. David, Jr., B. Darrell (Sharon), and daughter Loretta Gale Child; brothers and sisters, Alice (Howard) Stoker, Ruth Marcroft, Jay S. (Janet) Child, Ralph S. (Phyllis) Child; 12 grandchildren, five great grandchildren. Preceded in death by a son, Todd Dennis Child, and daughter-in-law Carol Child.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, Dec. 20, 2001, 12 noon at Mt. Olympus 12th Ward, 4176 So. 3930 E (corner of Adonis Dr. & Gary Rd.) Friends may call Wednesday 6-8 p.m. at Jenkins-Soffe Mortuary, 4760 So. State St. and Thursday from 11-11:45 a.m. at the church. Interment Wasatch Lawn Memorial Park.
