Adam Harness Warner, 85, of Whitmer and more recently a resident of the Pendleton County Nursing Home in Franklin, died November 17, in Rockingham Memorial Hospital in Harrisonburg, Va.

He had been in failing health for the past five years.

Born June 30, 1902, on the Hunting Ground, he was a son of the late John Warner and Deborah Sponaugle.

On December 28, 1922, he was united in marriage with the former Jessie Elza who preceded him in death August 8, 1982.

Surviving are two sons, Charles E. Warner and Jurl Salem Warner, both of Harrisonburg, Va; two brothers, Everett Sponaugle of Baltimore, Md, and Emory Warner of Glady; one half-sister, Mable Mick of Virginia; and one half-brother, John Warner, Jr. of Virginia.

Also surviving are eight grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, four step-grandchildren and seven step-great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by one daughter, Thelma Warner, one son, Warren Warner, one sister, Alice Zickefoose, one brother, William Warner, and two half brothers, Curtis and Okey Warner.

Mr. Warner was in the CCC's and a well known farmer of the Whitmer area.

He was a member of the Job church of God.

The Rev. Eli Hostetler, pastor of the Job Church of God, and the Rev. Hobert Hedrick, pastor of the Whitmer Church of God, officiated at the funeral Saturday at 2 p.m. at the Whitmer United Methodist Church.

Interment was in Laurel Hill Cemetery at Whitmer by the F. E. Runner Funeral Home.
