Sister Joyce, 75, of Glenmora, was born on January 27, 1936 and she went to be with her LORD on December 4, 2011.

Joyce was a faithful and humble woman and lived a beautiful life. She married her high school sweetheart and was a life long resident of Glenmora. She retired from the U.S. Postal Service after working as a clerk for 29 years. She was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and aunt. Joyce loved spending time with her family and spoiling her grandchildren. She was a Member Of the Pentecostals of Alexandria since 1989 and was a dedicated Sunday School Teacher for 10 years. She loved serving the LORD and reading her Bible. She prayed continually, visited the sick, and was always taking care of others. She was loved by many and Joyce will be greatly missed.

She is preceded in death by her mother, Bonita S. Robinson; her stepfather, Clint Robinson; two sisters, Shirley S. Rosier and Linda S. Holloway and one brother, Gerald Snyder.

Those left to cherish her memory include her husband of 58 years, Max E. Melder, two daughters; Diane M. Welch (Donnie) of Alexandria, and Lisa M. Willis (Mike) of Glenmora; one son Bruce W. Melder (Jill) of Pineville; six grandchildren and two great grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Joe Rosier, Charles Rosier, Darren Snyder, Ronald Hagan, Bill Melder and Chris Melder.

Special thanks to Judy Snyder, Dr. Howard Wold, Rebecca Denham and entire Staff of Journey Hospice.

Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society or the Pentecostals of Alexandria.

Visitation will be held on Monday, December 5th at the First United Pentecostal Church in Glenmora from 4:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. and from 9:00 a.m. until time of service at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday at the Pentecostals Of Alexandria.
