Ann was the daughter of Jonathan and Susannah (Harrison) Gibson, named in honor of her grandmother Ann (Grayson) Quarles Harrison. She was named in the wills of her father Jonathan Gibson 3rd (1788) and grandfather Thomas Harrison 2nd (1773), both of whom bequeathed a small number of slaves to her.

Ann married Joseph Blackwell, presumably in Fauquier Co., Virginia, in 1787. They lived in the Elk Run community of Fauquier County. There were four children, the last of whom was Mary Elizabeth Blackwell, born around the time of Ann's death, ca. 1800. (Bio by Mark Hale)
