I am not related to this person, only to help someone else to put the pieces together. After Edward died his wife Elizabeth Ohl married Abraham Beair also a widower.

Edwards daughter Barbara Clara Hartz married John Henry Beair, the son of Abraham Beair by his first wife.

So their widowed parents married each other

Abraham Beair
Civil War Vet Pension file #390,909, eyes and lungs damaged from fire, heat and smoke during the 'Meridian Raid' from making Sherman's 'bowties'...

Co. A 68 Reg Ohio Infantry Volunteers.
After discharge in July 1865, Anna Maria and Abraham lived in Fulton Co., Archbold., Ohio.
In 1868, they moved to Williams Co., Ohio, Pulaski. 1871 moved to Defiance Co, at Hicksville and then Mark Centre, Ohio until 1878.

1874 Jan 12, Adam Abraham is born (Adam Lamb and his wife were present
per statement on later pension application). Before Abraham left Mark Centre for Kansas in 1878, June 22, he applied for pension, claim #276560. Adam Lamb signed as witness. A. Z.? Smith was the other witness. Abraham was using the spelling Beair as early as his marriage and military service. Ana Maria's name appears as 'Speece'
on the marriage certificate.

The family story is that Abraham and (relatives/brothers?) primarily still German speaking, traded beautifully improved farm land in Ohio
for good 'bottom' improved land in Kansas...sight unseen. The improvements turned out to be a fraud, and they lived in wagons and tents, until they could build shelter, a log cabin,, northeast of Coffeyville, Montgomery Co., Ks., in the Round Prairie district. Ana Maria died in 1882, only 36 years old.
Abraham continued to file affidavits to the government attempting to prove his military service and seriousness of his lung and eye damage.
At the age of 45 Abraham married again in 1886, to a 40 year old widow, Elizabeth Hartz. On oct 3, 1888, Abraham died (without pension approval) of 'disease of the lungs'
Adam and Albert were taken to be raised by their older sisters, one each to Mary Beair(Harding and Slaten) and Susie Beair Hoggatt?.
An affidavit (1889)from Adam and Margret Lamb ages 69, and 66 of Coffeyville is also signed by William Heckman or Hickman of Liberty, F. F. Andress and M. Minges and Maggie Minges, stating that Adam and Albert were residing with Elizabeth.
Adam and Margret Lamb file an affidavit in 1891 stating that Elizabeth Hartz Beair had not remarried.
Feb 5, 1891 Elizabeth was awarded a widow's pension #393043...of $12 a month. She died Feb 23, 1912.
Feb 23, 1912, Elizabeth died.
