Forrest E. "Gene" Cunningham, a retired weapon system specialist for the federal government, died Wednesday, Sept. 27, 2000, in Vancouver. He was 84.
Mr. Cunningham, a Navy veteran of World War II, served on the USS Curtis. He retired from the Air Force logistics center in Sacramento, Calif.
He was born July 21, 1916, in Moline, Kan., and lived in the Vancouver area the past seven years.
Survivors include his wife of 58 years, Lois, at home; two sons, Paul of Vancouver and Keith of Portland; one sister, Mary Rogers of Denver; and five grandchildren.
Mr. Cunningham was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 7824 and the National Association of Retired Federal Employees, Chapter 131.
There will be a private graveside service at Evergreen Memorial Gardens Cemetery. Memorial Gardens Funeral Chapel is in charge of arrangements. Columbian, Saturday, September 30, 2000
