Billie Jean Terry, age 81, of Odessa, passed away Wednesday, November 30, 2011 in Odessa.

She was born March 11, 1930 in Ira, Texas to William (Bill) Thomas Childress and Bernice Jewel Haney. She married H. Hollis Terry on November 20, 1948 in Snyder. She graduated as valedictorian from Ira High School. She was offered three scholarships to attend college upon graduation from high school but opted to marry Hollis Terry and raise a family. They moved to Odessa in 1948 and she was a housewife for many years before going to work at a printing company, Ro Mac Business Forms, as office manager. She eventually became a licensed Real Estate Broker as well as an Insurance Administrator for Henderson-Parker and Bryant & Duncan Insurance.

Survivors include her husband, H. Hollis Terry of Odessa; her son, Robert H. (Bob) Terry and wife Sharla Terry of Odessa, Texas; daughters, Bernice Janette (Jan) Cutbirth and husband Henry Cutbirth of Monahans, Texas and Vicki Lynn Ennis and husband Pat Ennis of Midland, Texas, her brother, Robert Childress and wife Lou of Brownwood, Texas. She has 6 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren.

Visitation with the family will be 6-8 PM Friday, December 2, 2011 at Sunset Funeral Home. Services will be held at 11:00 AM Saturday, December 3, 2011 at Sunset Memorial Chapel with Jimmy Braswell officiating. Burial will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens.

Honorary pallbearers will be John Cutbirth, Brandon Terry, Richard Looney, Timothy Ennis, Cari Martinez, Kristen Looney, Allison Ennis, Jamie Terry and Kari Cutbirth.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be directed to Home Hospice of Odessa. The family would like to acknowledge Buena Vida Nursing Facility for their loving care of their mother.
