Following an illness of about two weeks duration, Mrs. Sarah A. Kilman, 89, prominent and well known Hunt county woman, died at her home in the Jacobia community at 9:30 o'clock last night.

The funeral services will be held at 2 o'clock Sunday afternoon at Old Concord Baptist church and will be conducted by her pastor, the Rev. S.D. Lindsley, assisted by the Rev. A.W. Reaves, pastor of the First Baptist church of this city and the Rev. Zimmerman, pastor of the Jacobia Methodist church.

Active pallbearers will be young grandsons of Mrs. Kilman. Honorary pall bearers will be all friends.

Sarah A. Barnett, daughter of Rev. Nathaniel and Martha Barnett, was born Jan. 26, 1843 at Decatur, Tenn., being one of twelve brothers and sisters, and was the last of the family to be called by death.

She was first married to Michael Fooshee in 1858 and he preceded her in death in 1865. Three children were born to this union, one of whom is living, Mrs. S.J. McWhirter of Fort Worth; J.D. Fooshee died in the fall of 1926 and Mrs. Mary Fooshee Kilman died about twenty-one years ago.

In 1867 Mrs. Fooshee was married to Robert Kilman at West Plains, Mo., and seven years later came to Texas, settling near the present home site. To this union were born nine children, all of who survive. They are: J.N. Kilman of Dallas, J.A. and G.R. Kilman, Mrs. T.J. Spurlock, Mrs. Ellis St. Clair and Mrs. A.C. Prather of Greenville, W.A. Kilman of Fort Worth, L.B. Kilman of Mineral Wells and Mrs. H.N. Dearmore of Montague, Tex. One hundread and twenty-five grand children and great grandchildren and one great great grandchild also survive her.

Mrs. Kilman ws converted and joined the Baptist church at the age of 15 years, and had lived a life of devotion to her faith and church throughout her long and useful life, always her pastors friend and helper. She had been a member of the Old Concord Baptist Church for 47 years and only illness prevented her attending every service.

She was a most remarkable woman, and dearly beloved by all who knew her. Beside the rearing of her own children, she was also a devoted and impartial mother to four step-children, three of whom survive; Mrs. J.L. Smith of Clarendon, F.M. Kilman of Vernon and J.F. Kilman of Bowie, who often express their love for her.

For a period of 25 years Mrs. Kilman has been an untiring worker in the interest of Buckner's Orphans Home, and never failed to send one or more boxes of clothing each year, often overcoming great difficulties and making great sacrifices to accomplish this beloved task. She had the courage of her righteous convictions, never yielding to any compromise of her ideas of right, she was a splendid Bible student, advocating its precepts and examples to all with whom she came on contact. She was a constant friend and neighbor and will be missed in her church and community. Grandma (as she was lovingly known) Kilman's body will be borne to its last resting place by six of her younger grandsons.
