Ervin R. Bayne, 73, Harrold Area farmer, died June 19, 1999, at the Hand County Memorial Hospital in Miller.
Funeral services will be held at 2PM Tuesday, June 22, at the Harold Methodist Church with the Rev. David Scarff officiating. Internment will be at the Medicine Hill Cemetery in Harrold.
Visitation will continue until 8PM Monday at the Luze Funeral home in Highmore.
Ervin Ray Bayne was born April 27, 1926, in Sully County to Claude and Mary Etta (Scott) Bayne. He was baptized in the Methodist Church in DeRitter, LA. He attended school in West Elk and East Elk schools in Sully County and graduated in 1945 from Harrold High School.
Choosing to stay on the farm after graduation, he raised cattle, hogs, and sheep. He served with the U.S. Army in Korea from 1950 to 1953. After his service he returned to the farm and also worked as a mechanic.
He married Ruth S. Carlton on June 4, 1964 in Cookville, Tenn.
He was a member of the Harrold Methodist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Ruth Bayne of Harrold; a sister, Jean Marmon; three nieces, a nephew, and several great-nieces, great-nephews, and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Clell Bayne, and Ira Fern Bayne; two nieces, a nephew, and a brother-in-law.
