Excelled during a 40-year career in the railroad industry in union and management roles on Canadian National, Detroit & Toledo Shore Line, and Grand Trunk railroads.

Pursued a lifetime of scholarship and study earning degrees from Wayne State University and the University of Michigan. A thoughtful student of the Holocaust and its implications for the human spirit. Passed on while still researching and writing a book about his own family history.

He realized his dreams of becoming a telegrapher, a surveyor, an accountant, father of a large family, and more. His spirit of achieving his goals in the face of challenge and his focus on providing for his family is his enduring legacy. In his own hand he wrote that he "has gone ahead to prepare a better place for his family."
