She was the survivor of a pair of twins. As there is only one date on her sister's tombstone she appears to have been stillborn or died the same day she was born.
Frances married William Martin SPARKS on Christmas Eve 1875. He was 19. She was 26.
The couple had the following children:
Clarence O SPARKS 1875 – 1877
Everett Albert Sparks 1877 – 1937
Alvie Odus SPARKS 1878 – 1968
Lea SPARKS 1879 – 1889
Otto SPARKS 1882 –
Uella "Earl" Sparks 1884 – 1951
Dora E SPARKS 1886 –
Grover Cleveland Sparks 1888 – 1960
Earnest Sparks 1891 – 1906
Frances and William seem to have separated after the birth of her youngest in 1906 and before the 1910 census. Frances lived the rest of her life with her son Earl and his family. They lived in Nodaway, Missouri and later moved to Hartford in Madison County, Illinois. Her son, Earl, went on to become the mayor of Hartford.
On 22 Aug 1934, Frances fell from the porch of her home. She suffered a fractured skull and died of her injuries 9 days later. She was 84. She was buried at Oakwood [aka Upper Alton] Cemetery in Alton, Madison County, Illinois.
