Levin B. Johnson, one of Montgomery count’s oldest citizens, and a well-known retired farmer, died Saturday at 5 o’clock at his home in Comus, age 89 years. Death was due to paralysis.
The following children survive William B, Chas M., Frank M., George H., Mrs. Laura Schwerin, all of Washington, DC; Arthur T., of Philadelphia, and Mrs. Jennie Baker, and Mattie B. Johnson, at home. He is also survived by one sister, Mrs. Anne Brandenburg, of Johnsville, and nine grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren.
Mr. Johnson was for many years a member of the Mountain M. E. church.
Funeral services were held at his home Monday at two o’clock, Rev. W. E. Nelson, officiating. Interment in Monocacy cemetery, Beallsville. W. T. Hilton and Sons, funeral directors. The pallbearers were John C. Hildebrand, W.W. Hodges, Otis Holland, Geo. A. Pearre, Jr., Geo. Nicholson, Shirley Hays.
