OBITUARY FROM THE BRENHAM BANNER PRESS:

MRS. HENRY HUGO, SR. DIES SATURDAY AT HOME IN GAY HILL

Mrs. Wilhelmine Hugo, venerable wife of Henry Hugo, Sr., prominent farmer in the Gay Hill community, died this morning at eight o'clock at her home in Gay Hill.
Mrs. Hugo, who has been an invalid for the past two years, was 62 years, 9 months and 17 days of age at the time of her death.
She was born in Germany and came to America with her family at the age of nine years. The family settled in Washington county and the deceased has made her home in this county ever since.
As Miss Wilhelmine Helm, she was married on December 17, 1893, to Mr. Hugo. Five children were born of this union but one died as an infant. The surviving children, all of whom are now living in the Gay Hill community, are Theodore, Henry, Jr., and Otto Hugo and Mrs. Lydia Glaesmann. Other survivors are her brother, John Helm of Tynum; and three sisters, Mrs. William Hugo of Bynum, Mrs. Annie Zibilski of Zionsville and Mrs. Emma Haferkamp of Riesel. She also leaves seven grandchildren.
For many years, Mrs. Hugo was a most active member of the Gay Hill Lutheran church and of the Ladies' Aid Society of that organization.
Funeral services are to be held Sunday afternoon at two o'clock from the family residence with the Rev. A. W. Weber of Somerville officiating. Interment will be in the Evangelical Lutheran cemetery on the highway near Gay Hill. Leon Simank, funeral director, is in charge of arrangements.
