The family of Annie Belle Lamb will celebrate 88 years of her life at 11 a.m. Thursday, March 17, 2005, at W.W. Rix Chapel. A committal service will follow at the City of Lubbock Cemetery.

Annie died peacefully with her daughter at her side Monday, March 14.

Annie Belle was born May 22, 1916 to Milo Hampton and Lillian Kunkle Kinard in McLean. She moved to Lubbock at a young age and graduated from Lubbock High School in 1936. Following graduation, Annie was an operator for Southwestern Bell Telephone until she married Edward W. Lamb April 11, 1942 in Ralls, and he preceded her in death Oct. 16, 1970. She enjoyed cooking for her family, sewing and gardening. Mrs. Lamb was a member of Oakwood Baptist Church.

Survivors include her daughter, Ginger Leonard and her husband Lee of Lubbock; three grandchildren, Michael Leonard of Austin, Emily Leonard of Lubbock, and Rebecca McClanahan and her husband Chris; and a great-granddaughter, Katheryn McClanahan of Hobbs, N.M. Two of her children preceded her in death.

She is the last of 12 siblings called home to join the Lord.
