Elbert Dennis
Dies At 83

Elbert Dennis, 83, died Sunday at 5:55 a.m. in Hall Bennett Memorial Hospital.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday in the Nalley-Pickle Rosewood Chapel with burial in Mt. Olive Cemetery. Paul Keele, of the Marcy Drive Church of Christ, will be officiating, assisted by Randall Morton.
Mr. Dennis was born Nov. 11, 1888, in Eastland Co. He moved to Howard Co. in 1940. He farmed and ranched until his retirement in 1958. He was a member of the Marcy Drive Church of Christ.
Survivors include five daughters, Mrs. J. C. Nelson, Big Spring, Mrs. Gene Ausburn and Mrs. Tommy Mannerzza, both of Sweetwater, Mrs. C. R. Thompson, Stratford, and Mrs. J. W. Racska, Manchester, N.H.; eight grandchildren, one great-grandchild; four sisters, Mrs. Bill Davidson, Big Spring, Mrs. Annie Whitman, Lubbock, Mrs. John Mayes, Abilene, and Mrs. E. T. Thrower, Warren, Tex.; three brothers, Luther Dennis, Trent, Tex.; Alfred Dennis, Barlett, Tex.; and Floyd Dennis, Winnsboro, Tex.
Pallbearers will be Don Thompson, Doug Thompson, Danny Thompson, Spencer Ausburn, Jerry Ausburn and Sammy Dennis.
