John M. Fisher, 68,of Tavares, Florida and Danville, passed away suddenly at 1:07 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 27, 2011, at Leesburg Regional Medical Center in Leesburg, Florida.
He was born July 29, 1943 in Danville to S. Deneen and Violet Evelyn Harrier Fisher. He was preceded in death by his parents and his aunt, Marjorie Kavanaugh. He married Paula Cunningham May 21, 2004. She survives.
He is also survived by two sons, John Michael (Missy) Fisher of Danville and Scott A. Fisher of Alvin; one brother, Lee (Bette) Fisher of Ft. Myers, Florida; two grandchildren, Amber and Michelle Fisher; one great-granddaughter, Emma Fisher and cousin, Carol Jo Holaves.
He enlisted in the U.S. Army in 1961 and was stationed in Germany. He was an atomic demolition/munitions specialist and an expert M-14 rifleman.
