Services for Carol Ann Aby, 52, of Natchitoches will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 28, 2000, in First United Methodist Church, Natchitoches, with the Rev. James Poole and the Rev. Doug Cain officiating. Graveside services will be held at 4 p.m. Thursday at Greenoaks Memorial Park, Baton Rouge. She died Monday, Sept. 25, 2000, in Arlington Memorial Hospital, Arlington, Texas. She was a native of Cullman, Ala. She was a graduate of the University of Southern Mississippi. She was a homemaker. She was a member of First United Methodist Church at Natchitoches and Dixie Darlings as a featured twirler. She was a former teacher, legal secretary and stained glass artist. Survivors include her husband of 30 years, Dr. Carroll D. Aby Jr. of Natchitoches; a son, Carroll D. "Trey" Aby III and his wife, Heather of Jackson, Miss.; a daughter, Jennifer Aby of Baton Rouge; her mother, Rosalie Stevens of Cullman; two sisters, Sheila Whitlock and her husband, Randy of Nashville, Tenn., and Kathy Kelly and her husband, Ricky, of Hattisburg, Miss.; three grandchildren, T.J. Aby, Justin Aby and C.J. Aby, all of Jackson; a nephew, Patrick Kelly of Hattisburg; four nieces, Shannon Kelly and Katie Kelly, both of Hattisburg, Ms. Casey Whitlock and Sydney Whitlock, both of Nashville; four aunts, Barbara Hollingsworth, Florine Sutter, Sue Thrasher and Evelyn Stevens; 10 cousins, Johnny Thrasher, Rae Katherine Vandaworker, Betty Adams, Peggy Shilstone, James Crossley, Mrs. Carroll Soper, Margaret Wilson, Ethyl Carnegie, William Ruffin Beale and Margaret Carroll. Pallbearers will be Dr. Steve Elliott, Dr. Steve Kromis, Dr. Claude Simpson, Dr. T. Hillman Willis, Dr. David Loudon, Dr. Billy Bagwell, Marcus Jones, Kelly Stringer, Charlie Jordan, Bolden Bankston and Winston D'Armond. She devoted her life to providing the best possible opportunities for her family and she always brought sunshine into the lives of those who crossed her path.
