The funeral took place from the Catholic church Wednesday afternoon at 4:45 o'clock.
Mr. Cahanin had been a life-long resident of Opelousas, and before he was stricken was prominent in business circles, and several times served as a member of the city council.
He leaves a widow and a large family, to whom the Clarion extends heartfelt condolences.
