Ruth Elizabeth Liptak, 97, formerly of Reading, died Nov. 29, 2011, in Manor Care, Sinking Spring.
Her husband, William Stephen Liptak, died in 1974.
Born in Reading, she was a daughter of the late Adam and Gertrude (Greiss) Adam.
Ruth was a member of St. Paul's Roman Catholic Church, Reading.
She was a devoted homemaker and role model for her family.
She was an active member in parent organizations of schools that her children attended, including Central Catholic High School and Albright College, and she served as Judge of Elections in her district for several years.
She is survived by three children: Mary E. Marion, West Lawn; Robert W., husband of Maryellen (Chelius) Liptak, Greenville, SC; and William S., husband of Linda (Horst) Liptak, Williamsport, PA; and three brothers: Richard Adam, Gerald Adam and Ralph Adam, all of Reading.
Eight grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren also survive her.
She was predeceased by her brother, Frederick Adam, and her sister, Dorothy Adam.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Saturday at 10 a.m. in St. Paul's Church, 151 N. 9th St., Reading, PA 19601.
Burial will be in Gethsemane Cemetery.
Friends may call Saturday from 9 to 10 a.m. in the church.
Edward J. Kuhn Funeral Home Inc., West Reading, is in charge of arrangements.
