H. Pilliard Dies at 93

Henry Pilliard, aged resident of the Wolfe district, passed on a visit to Oakland.

Pillard was 93 years at the time of his death, a native of Switzerland.

He came to this country as a young man, settling in Nevada County where he has been engaged in ranching and stock raising for the past 70 years.

In spite of his advanced years, Pilliard remained active and continued to maintain his own home to the end of his life.

The remains were returned to Auburn, where funeral services were held yesterday morning at 11 o'clock in the Lukens Vettesstad and Bryan parlors.

Rev. Edwin Castledine of St. Luke's Episcopal Church officiated. Burial followed in the Cunningham cemetery in Nevada County.

The deceased is survived by three sons, Alfred A. Pilliard of Loomis; Edward E. Pilliard of Nevada County; and Milton H. Pilliard of Portland, Oregon; and two daughters, Mrs. Anna L. Sanford of Wolfe, and Mrs. Matilda T. Sims of Berkeley.
