Elizabeth (Betty) Frichtl, 87, of Newton, died at 4:30 p.m. Saturday, September 16, 2000 at Newton Rest Haven in Newton.
Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday with a wake service at 6:30 p.m. at Buchanan Funeral Home in Newton. Funeral mass will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at St. Thomas Catholic Church in Newton with Father Joseph Molloy celebrating mass. Burial will be in Old St. Peter Cemetery east of Newton.
Mrs. Frichtl was born March 2, 1913, in Wendelin, the daughter of Henry Joseph and Elizabeth (Helfert) Rudolphi. She married Thomas L. Frichtl on May 14, 1935. He died on December 22, 1971.
She was a homemaker and loving mother; a member of St. Thomas Catholic Church and St. Thomas Altar Society; a volunteer for Jasper County 4-H; and a member of Knights of Columbus Council # 1704 of Newton.
Mrs. Frichtl is survived by four sons, Thomas H. Frichtl of Urbana, William Frichtl of Anchorage, Ala., Paul Frichtl of Springfield, W. Va. And John Frichtl of Greenville, S.C.; six daughters, Patricia Kaus of Shadron, Neb., JoAnn Frichtl of Charleston, Ann Frichtl of Newton, Chris Frichtl of Champaign, Barbara Klein of Marion, Iowa and Mary Frichtl of Champaign; 11 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, three brothers, three sisters and one grandson.
