Mrs. Gideon Barthel Dead
Mrs. Gideon Barthel, 125 South Commercial St., died this morning at her home. Funeral services will be held in the Evanglical [sic] United Brethren Church, of which she was a member. Burial will be in Maplewood Cemetery. The time will be announced later. Lydia Isenhower, the daughter of Soloman and Lena Frees Isenhower, was born May 11th, 1870, in Denison, Tex. She married Mr. Barthel Dec. 10th, 1891, in Denison and they moved to Emporia in 1894. Surviving are her husband of the home; two daughters Ruth Kitzenberger, St. Joseph, Mo., Mrs. Russell Vickers, Neodosha, and one son, Daniel Barthel, Jefferson City, Mo.; six grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by one daughter, Ursula.
