Louise M. "Maxine" Voelker, 92 of Valley Falls, KS., formerly of Tonganoxie, KS., died Tuesday, November 29, at Medical Lodges of Jackson County in Holton. She was born February 28, 1919, the daughter of Jesse Lleuelyn and Carrie Belle Scott Hostetter. She graduated from Effingham High School in 1937. She worked for the Glass Company in Oskaloosa, KS., in the 1950's and in the McLouth grade school kitchen for many years. She also worked as a dishwasher in numerous restaurant, as a cook at the Lawrence Sale Barn, and at Hardee's at the east Lawrence turnpike service area. She was a member of the McLouth United Methodist Church, former Member of the McLouth PTA, and volunteered as a Hunters Safety Instructor in the beginning of the Hunters Safety Program. Survivors include three Sons, Arthur Voelker, Tonganoxie, KS., Russell Voelker, Valley Falls, KS., and Chuck Voelker, Riley, KS. One Daughter, Louise Jahnke, Leonardville, KS., One Sister Bernice Snyder, Overland Park, KS., 10 Grandchildren, 15 Great-Grandchildren, and 4 Great-Great- Grandchildren. Services will be 11:00 AM Friday, December 2 at the Barnett Family Funeral Home located at 1220 Walnut (Hwy 59), in Oskaloosa. Burial will follow at the Lancaster Cemetery. Visitation will be 1 hour prior to service (10:00AM to 11:00AM). Memorials may be made to the Jefferson County Service Organization and sent in care of the Barnett Family Funeral Home PO Box 602 Oskaloosa, KS., 66066.
