Opal Orgain rites slated
Funeral services for Opal Orgain, age 97 of Arapaho, will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday in the Meacham Memorial Chapel of the First Baptist Church in Clinton with Terry Brooks and Rev. Bryan Gilbert officiating.

Opal Wagnon was born on Jan. 1, 1907 in Foss, the daughter of Joel M. and Leota (Butler) Wagnon. She died late Tuesday, Feb. 10, 2004, at Integris Clinton Regional Hospital. Orgain attended school and Clinton and worked for Dr. McBurney. On Oct. 21, 1927 she married George L. Orgain in Elk City. They made their home in Clinton where George taught school until 1940. They also lived in Duncan, Ardmore, Stillwater and South Texas before retiring and settling in Arapaho in 1976. Opal was a member of the First Baptist Church and AARP where she was very active. In her spare time she enjoyed reading and embroidery. She especially enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren.

Preceding her in death were her husband, who died in 1986; three sisters, Mildred Bonham, Jewell Armstrong, Lorene Thompson; and two brothers, Fay Wagnon and Othor Wagnon. Burial will conclude in the Arapaho Cemetery under the direction of the Stanley-Lee Funeral Home in Clinton.

Survivors include a daughter, Maralyn Howenstine and her husband, W.C., of Arapaho; a son, George Orgain, Jr. and his wife, Alice, of Denton, Texas; four grandchildren; six great grandchildren; and three greatgreat grandchildren. The family suggests that those who desire may make memorial contributions in Opal's memory to the First Baptist Church.
