ARNE HILL DIES AT HOME


The death of Arnie A. Hill, 65, Waskish, occurred March 6 at his home.


He was born September 2, 1916 at Roubaix, SD. He came to the Waskish area in 1918 and was a lumberjack.


Survivors are three sons, Steve, Fairbanks, Alaska; David, Rock Spring, Wyoming; and Dennis, Colorado Springs, Colorado; two grandchildren, Tommy and Brian; one granddaughter Heather; and several nieces and nephews.


Hill was preceded in death by his wife, Emma, and one son, Tommy.


Services were held Friday at the Snustad Funeral Home, with the Rev. J. Paul Schoitz officiating. Interment was at Fairview Cemetery.

1920 Census: Isaac F Hill (32) born about 1888 in Finland and immigrated 1907, was farming in Konig, Beltrami, Minnesota. He was married to Susana C Hill (33) born about 1887 in Finland and immigrated 1912. Children: Arvo J (12), Arthur I (7), Erma E (5), and Arnold A (3).


1930 Census: Isaac Hill (45) born about 1885 in Finland and immigrated 1907, was farming in Konig, Beltrami, Minnesota. He was married to Susana Hill (45) born about 1885 in Finland and immigrated 1912. Children: Arvo J (23), Arthur I (17), Erma E (14), and Arnold A (12). Isaac's single brother was living with them - Jacob Hill (53) born about 1877 and immigrated 1900, was working as a farm laborer.


1940 Census: Isaac Hill (55) born about 1885 in Finland, was farming in Township 155 Range 30 [Konig], Beltrami, Minnesota. He was married to Susana Hill (55) born about 1885 in Finland. An adult son lived with them - Arnie Hill (22) born about 1918 in South Dakota, was an unpaid family worker.
