Dorothy Lee Duncan Biddix

Dorothy Lee Duncan Biddix, age 85, of Marion, N.C. passed away Friday, November 25, 2011 at Aston Park Health Care Center in Asheville.

Ms. Biddix was born in Buncombe County on October 18, 1926 and is a daughter of the late Elmer and Leona Fox Duncan.

She was a member of Cross Memorial Baptist Church. She worked at Cross Cotton Mill for over 30 years before leaving to take a position at Baxter Healthcare, a job she thoroughly enjoyed. Following retirement from Baxter Healthcare she volunteered as a foster grandparent at P.G. Elementary School. During her lifetime she was devoted to the care and well being of her mother and invalid aunt. She loved the outdoors, painting, chocolate candy and she will be remembered as a great mother.

Preceding Ms. Biddix in death was her Mother on October 16, 2008. A grandson, Will Laughter July 31, 2000. A brother, Billy James Duncan, on September 29,1974 formerly of Hampton, VA and a sister, Rosa Jane Bruner on August 13, 2003

Ms. Biddix leaves behind two daughters: Carolyn Biddix Andrews and husband John of Marion and Sue Biddix Brown of Old Fort; three grandchildren: Sedeana Laughter of Asheville NC, Dawn Wood of Oldfort and Rocky wood wife Lorie of Marion; nine great grandchildren: Allysa Wester and husband Chris of Nebo, Rev. Randall Sigmon and Girlfriend Heather Dye of Fletcher NC , Emily Piveronas and husband JR of Pleasant Gardens NC, Seth and Gage Laughter both of Myrtle Beach SC, Katie Balderas and husband William of Oldfort NC, and Tyler Turner of Oldfort NC and Rocky Wood Jr. And Heather Wood both of Marion NC. and one great-great grandson: Brandon Wester of Nebo

A Graveside Service will be held Saturday, November 26, 2011 at Cross Memorial Park at 4:30 pm with Rev. Douglas Prevette officiating. special singing will be provided by The Singing True Believers
