DYLEWSKI, Edward Bolestlow
Edward Bolestlow Dylewski, prominent Windsor Connecticut game breeder for over 50 years, died November 8, 2010. Edward (Ed) was born in Hartford on October 13, 1917, the son of the late Henry and Joanna (Kiesel) Dylewski. He and his family moved to Windsor in 1936 when they purchased a farm business. In 1939, Ed joined the Connecticut National Guard and in 1941 enlisted in the Army. He served as a Master Sergeant and was a survivor of the Omaha Beach invasion in 1944. Following his honorable discharge from the service, Ed returned to Windsor where he built a successful game breeding business. A man of many talents beyond farming, Ed and his wife Letha Faye established a professional photographer's studio in Hartford. He also was a shop foreman at Hamilton Standard from 1960 to 1968. Ed was an accomplished carpenter as well, having architecturally designed and built several homes for his family. In his retirement, Ed continued to enjoy photography as his favorite interest. He also was a talented ballroom and polka dancer as well as a skilled cook. Ed was predeceased by his wives, Letha Faye (Wilson) and Edith L. (Ferrati); a sister, Stella Pikor; and three brothers, Theodore, Henry, and Stanley. He is survived by his daughter, Sharon Anne Vigue and husband Denis of Vernon; a grandson, Daniel Nasuta of Windsor; best friend, Jeannette "Muscles" Smith of Riverton.
