Services for E.V. "Nig" Boyer, 60, 612 N. Jefferson, have been tentatively set for 2:30 p.m. Wednesday in the Baptist church at Moorewood, OK. with Rev. Lewis M. Hancock officiating.
Mr. Boyer was born in eastern Nebraska on July 24, 1894, and died Monday, Dec. 6, 1954, from injuries received in a truck-train crash near Strong City on Thursday, Dec. 2.
He was married to Mary Page on May 11, 1914, at Arnett, OK.. He had been a resident of Oklahoma since 1908 and moved to Elk City 10 years ago, and was a member of the Baptist church.
Mr. Boyer had been working as an employee of the Clinton Division Oklahoma highway department since July 1945. He was working on a construction job near Strong City when the accident which took his life occurred.
Survivors are his wife of the home; two sons, Jack Boyer, LeFlores, Tx., and Bob, Elk City. Five daughters, Mrs Lelah May Shockey, Hammon; Mrs. Velma Yarbrough, Claude, Tx. Mrs. Doris Willsie, Elk City; Mrs Eva Jones, Ft.Morgan, Colo.; Mrs. Gail Bartrum, Borger, Tx., and Mrs. Wymena Lou Owens, Bell, Calif.
Other survivors are a sister, Mrs. Norman Bennett, Custer City, Pa., and five brothers, Harve J., Spokane, Wash.; Bill Medina, N.Y.,Edd Bradford, Pa.; Wesley, Karney, Neb.; and Pete of Miller, Neb. 25 grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
Burial will be in Moorewood cemetery with Martin-Hullum Funeral Home in charge.
