Funeral services for Clyde D. Bairfield, 68, of Athens are scheduled for 2 p.m. Wednesday, November 30, 2011 at Willow Springs Baptist Church in Athens with Bro. Joe Hall officiating. Burial will follow at Willow Springs Cemetery

Clyde passed away Sunday, November 27, 2011 in Tyler, TX.

He was born July 8, 1943 in Palestine, Texas to Clyde and Annie Lou Martin Bairfield. He married Vicki Gage on July 4, 1974 in Athens, TX. Clyde worked as an oilfield consultant and had lived in this area for 37 years after moving from Palestine, TX. He loved restoring old cars, attending car shows and spending time with his grandson Jeremy Fields. Clyde was a Mason and a member of the Willow Springs Baptist Church in Athens.

Clyde was preceded in death by his parents; brothers: Leland, Anthony and Amos Bairfield.

He is survived by his wife Vicki Bairfield of Athens; children Justin Tew and wife Deanna of The Woodlands, Tammy Darling and husband Jeff of Spring, Clyde Jr. and wife Kay of Athens, Brittney Abbott and husband Randy of Athens; brother Keith Bairfield of Tennessee Colony, sisters Ann Taylor of Sierra Vista, AZ, Shirley Kruszewski of Sierra Vista, AZ, Patricia Jones of The Woodlands, and Gayle Calcote of Palestine; ten grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren. Also a host of friends and his Church family.
