Miss Addie Elizabeth Beene, the youngest of the 10 children of W.E. Beene family which resided on Route One in Greenville for nearly 50 yeras (sic), died at 6:30 a.m. June 15 at St. Paul Hospital in Dallas of cancer. She was 63.

She had resided in Dallas since 1942, and made her home at 21 Turtle Creek Square at the time of her death. Since 1967 she had been an accounts administrator and building manager for Ben Griffin Enterprises.

The Beene family moved to Greenville in 1920. Miss Beene was born August 29, 1914 in Royse City.

Miss Beene was salutatorian of her Greenville High School graduating class and completed her B.A. Degree at East Texas State College in Commerce.

She taught school at Liberty, Jacobia, Mundy and at Lamar School in Greenville. She became a member of the Old Concord Baptist Church in Jacobia as a youngster.

She was a member of Dallas Chapter No. 1, Order of Eastern Star, and served as Worthy Matron of that Chapter in 1971-72. She had been a Grand Officer of the Grand Chapter of Texas several times, and was active in the Past Matron's Club of Dallas Chapter No. 1, as well as the Past Matron's and Past Patron's Association of Dallas.

Miss Beene is survived by four brothers and three sisters, R.L. Beene and Roy Beene of Dallas; Miss Eula Beene, Hick Beene and Mrs. George Graham of Greenville; Raymond Beene of Coushatta, La.; and Mrs. Oliver Walden of Anaheim, Calif. A host of friends and a number of nieces and nephews also survive her.

Services will be at 1 pm. Saturday at Restland Memorial Chapel in Dallas. Dr. Ben Oliphint, pastor of the First United Methodist Church of Dallas will officiate.

Graveside services will follow at 3:30 p.m. at the the Old Concord Baptist Church Cemetery in Jacobia, near Greenville.

Pallbearers will be: S.W. Martin and Elmer Graham of Dallas; Herschel Moore and Horice Graham of Greenville; John Waldn of Anaheim, Calif. and George Hartman of San Clemente, Calif.

Honorary pallbearers will be Robert L. Wood, Earl H. Holden, John William and Lindy Barton, all of Dallas.
