LANCASTER- Evelyn A. Ramsdell, 93, formally of French Road, Dalton, died Saturday evening January 21, 2006 at Country Village Health Care Center, Lancaster.

Mrs. Ramsdell was born in Dalton, NH on April 11, 1912 the daughter of Alfred and Marion (Tillotson) Fountain.

Evelyn was raised and resided in Dalton for most of her life. She worked at Profile Cleaners for a time and over 25 years at Manchester Knitted Fashions in Whitefield. In 1995 she moved to Holton Point and has resided at Country Village since 1997. She was an active member of the Dalton community, an avid card player and was always loving and giving.

She was a member of the Dalton Grange, Ladies Aid Society, and the Dalton Congregational Church.

Family members include two sons; Carl F. Ramsdell and his wife Sandra of Maidstone, VT, John G. Ramsdell of Barrington, NH; two daughters Marilyn R. Carlson and her husband Berger of Concord, NH, Rita M. Ramsdell of Saint Johnsbury,VT; two brothers in-law, Lawrence Ramsdell of Dalton, Willard Ramsdell of Whitefield; a sister in-law, Katherine Stockwell also of Whitefield; 9 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband George F. Ramsdell and a granddaughter Jill Carlson.
