Lincoln -- Floyd J. Emmons, 68, died Wednesday at the Porter Medical Center in Middlebury following a long illness. He was born in Hinesburg July 4, 1915, son of Bernard E. and Agnes (Edwards) Emmons. He was a life member of the Bristol American Legion Post 19 and served in the European Theater in World War II and in Hawaii in the Korean War. Mr. Emmons was employed by Kennedy Brothers for 28 years. He is survived by his wife, Viola Sargent Emmons of Lincoln; two brothers, Paul Emmons of Bristol and Bruce Emmons of Fryeburg, Maine; several nieces and nephews, including two special nephews who made their home with Mr. and Mrs. Emmons, Raymond F. Cousino of Lincoln and Edward F. Cousino of West Swanzy, N.H.; two grandnephews and one grandniece. Funeral services will be held Saturday at 2 p.m. at the Brown-McClay Funeral Home in Bristol. Interment will be in Maple Cemetery in Lincoln. Friends may call at the Brown-McClay Funeral Home Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
