Cora Lee Dickens Hardy Collier, age 74, of Petersburg died January 7, 2005 in a local hospital. She was preceded in death by her first husband Carl Hardy, Jr. and her sister Gladys Snipes Whitt. She is survived her husband Ellsworth Collier, her sons Dr. Stephen Hardy, Reid Collier and his wife Joyce, Ned Collier and his wife Karen; Grandchildren Austin and Adam Hardy; Derrick, Greg, Theresa, and Peggy Collier, two great granddaughters Kaitlyn Collier and Madelyn Gilson. A sister Juanita DeJarnette and her husband Albert; a brother Claude Dickens, Jr. and his wife Amy; an aunt Helen T. King; three Nephews and one Niece. She was a member of Second Baptist Church, she was also the past president of both the Appomattox and Burlington Garden Clubs and on the board of the SRC Guild. The family will receive friends Monday, January 10, from 7-8 PM at J.T. Morriss & Sons at Adam and Wythe Streets in Petersburg. There will be a graveside service Tuesday, January 11 at 11AM at Southlawn Memorial Park. The family suggests memorial gifts to be made to Second Baptist Church 3355 Johnson Rd Petersburg VA 23805 or to your favorite charity. Condolences may be registered at www.jtmorriss.com.
