Loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, Ardell Mary Jensen Kearns, 91, passed away November 23, 2011 in Gunnison. She was born June 18, 1920 in Mayfield to Wilford Ole and Deliah Voorhees Jensen. She married James McQuade Kearns, June 28, 1940 in Gunnison. The marriage was later solemnized in the Manti LDS Temple. He preceded her in death February 19, 2005.
Ardell was a loving mother. She served in the LDS Church in various positions. She was an accomplished seamstress, employed by Pacific Trails Sportswear.
She is survived by son, Larry (Laraine) Kearns, Provo; 10 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren.
Also preceded in death by parents; daughter and son-in-law, Karolyn & John Hammond; brother, Bobby Lynn Voorhees; sister, Leola Wyler Arbuckle; great-granddaughter, Breanna Wall.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, December 1, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. in the Gunnison 5th Ward, 210 S Main, Centerfield.
