Julius P. Ast, 79, retired farmer, died peacefully at home, on Monday, Nov. 17, 2003. Mass 10:30 a.m. Wed. at St. Joseph Catholic Church; interment will take place at St. Joseph Cemetery.
Survivors: wife, Thelma (Hein) of Ost; stepsons and spouses, Michael and D. D. Bergkamp of Helena, MT., Ken Bergkamp of Palmer, AR, John and Julie Bergkamp of Garden Plain; stepdaughters, and spouses, Cindy and Ray Gunn of Mt. Hope, Julie and Duane Hampel, Lila and Martin Kerschen all of Garden Plain, Patty and Gary Geiger, Janell and Barry Hogan all of KC, KS; brothers, Martin of Belle Plaine, Francis of Wichita, Aemil of Colwich; sister, Josephine Jansen of Wichita; 20 grandchildren.
